"As a child I used to wonder why some of the adults in my life were always stressed, why certain things in my family were how they were and why adults in general seemed to carry cold hearts; everyone seemed to be unhappy. I couldn’t figure it out; as a child, you’re naive to the realities of the world because your innocence protects you from them. I struggled with certain realisations that come naturally as you grow up, particularly as I felt I had to grow up earlier than some of my peers. A lot of this song details how I overcame certain tribulations during my jump to adulthood. I realise they’ve made me stronger and processing them has made me more secure in myself. It’s basically a coming of age song, with a little personal commentary on where I’m at currently thrown in the mix for good measure."
