Ady Suleiman Opens Up His Next Chapter With His New Single " What If. "

'What If' brings Ady Suleiman back into focus with a track that sits in the middle of doubt, hesitation and the kind of internal questions you only ask when things feel unsteady. Taken from 'Chasing,' his new album landing on 16th January, it shows him writing with more openness than ever.

The song moves over a smoky, jazz-shaped production from Miles Clinton James, known for work with Little Simz and KOKOROKO. Ady sings about the moments where you feel too small in a room, unsure of your place, or worried you’ll fall short in a relationship. The tension sits right under the melody, and you feel it as much as you hear it.

What If follows his earlier releases this year: “Miracle,” “Never Meant To Hurt You” with Kofi Stone and “Brother.” Together, they map out the emotional thread running into 'Chasing,' a project shaped by questions of identity, mental health, love and heritage. He wrote it between London and Zanzibar, and you can hear that shift in perspective. The writing is tighter. The themes hit harder. It’s a version of Ady that feels grounded in who he is and where he comes from.

This new phase comes after a short break that gave him space to rethink his direction. The music he’s releasing now reads like a reset. The sound leans warm and live, and the visuals point toward a cultural connection he’s ready to claim again, especially in the way he folds in his Swahili roots.

After early EPs, a record deal, collaborations, a debut album and a national tour, Ady steps into Chasing with more clarity. What If is a marker of that growth. It’s a simple question wrapped in a song that doesn’t pretend doubt disappears, but shows how it can push you forward.
