Olaolu Slawn and The FA Expand on their Collaboration for Second Year in a Row

For the second year running, the Emirates FA Cup has called upon none other than Slawn to embrace the spirit of the Final, and once again, he’s delivered in style.

One of the most exciting and innovative artists and designers of his generation, Slawn has injected his expressionist, caricaturesque style into Wembley this weekend, curating key areas across of stadium as Crystal Palace faced off against Manchester City on Saturday.

Shawn’s designs were displayed in the pre-match ceremony and banner parade, across the players’ tunnel, as well as featuring on the winner’s and Player of the Match champagne bottles used during the celebrations.

Last year, Slawn collaborated with The FA’s official silverware provider, Thomas Lyte, to reimagine and design a homage to the FA Cup trophy itself. This season, his creative involvement has expanded across Wembley Stadium, bringing a real powerful energy to the home of English football.

Slawn’s involvement signals a new chapter for what is such a prestigious competition both domestically and internationally. The Emirates FA Cup has been a footballing touchstone for over 150 years, and the Nigeria-born, London-based designer’s artistry is demonstrative of the Cup’s global reach and impact in modern culture.

At just 24 years old, Slawn is nothing short of a cultural powerhouse. From designing the BRIT Award in 2023 (and being the youngest ever to do so), to collaborating with the likes of SZA, Beyoncé, and A$AP Rocky, his fingerprints are all over the visual language of a new generation!

A year on from his first collaboration, Slawn’s return to Wembley underscores a lasting connection between art and sport. His work with the Emirates FA Cup marks a bold leap forward, blending creativity with heritage to redefine the visual identity of one of football’s most iconic tournaments.
