J P Rose Centres Mental Health Awareness on New Single Lonely Soul

Artist-producer J P Rose gives us a touching yet vibrant offering with his latest single, Lonely Soul, in honour of Mental Health Awareness Month

J P Rose

Punctuated by a pulsing kick-drum, J P Rose's newest track blends hazy synths and vulnerable lyricism to explore a topic close to his heart. It being Mental Health Awareness Month, it's a good a time as any to reflect. Lonely Soul offers the chance to do that, as his vulnerability can hopefully provide the space for others to open up.

Known to many for his incredible producing work with Sainté, Feux, Bina, and notably RUBII whom he shares the standout 'Riot' with, J P Rose is well versed on the buttons. However, his solo catalogue is littered with gems. He's clearly an artist in the truest sense, and can excel whether letting someone else occupy the limelight, or stepping into it himself.

In 'Lonely Soul' he does the latter, and the result is excellent. Topics of family, therapy and isolation are explored, with a warm bassline and head-bopping drums providing clarity in contrast. Well worth checking out are the accompanying visuals, directed by Gordian Schrödter (Ed Sheeran). Moving from black-and-white solitude to vibrant scenes with family and friends, the video traces the emotional arc of an artist working through his inner battles.

Speaking on the release, J P Rose states;

“Lonely Soul is me being honest with where I’m at. It starts in a place of isolation, but as the song unfolds, I begin to see the love that’s been there all along. It’s a reminder for myself and for anyone listening that we’re never truly alone.”

It's a poignant and heartfelt message, delivered with the care and attention that only this seasoned producer could provide. 'Lonely Soul' sparks great excitement for what else is to come from the mind of J P Rose.
