The first single, and opening track, from his upcoming EP, 'IF NOT NOW, WHEN?', 'CEILING' is a hard-hitting, no-nonsense introduction to what is shaping up to be an exciting project from a special new artist.
Co-produced by Brandon alongside frequent collaborators Parsqw and destrovsli, ‘CEILING’ explores the concept of alternate timelines, and delves into the realities of life in London. The juxtaposition between his current humanity and the potential outcomes of different choices is discussed using sharp flows over orchestral instrumentation.
Through introspective and poetic lyrics, alongside a self-directed visual, Brandon's honesty is palpable. He presents a narrative that resonates deeply, emphasising the importance of self-awareness and authenticity.
Speaking on the single, Brandon said:
“I wrote ‘Ceiling’ with the duality of man in mind; the idea that there is both good and evil living within everyone. Despite my background and the seemingly coincidental proximity to the underbelly of society, I could become the person I am today, unscathed and perceptively ‘good’ unlike many who fall victim to their surroundings.”
Visually and sonically, Brandon Nembhard seems to be going from strength to strength, and really tapping into his creative flow. With his new EP around the corner, we at Oculate will be waiting patiently to hear what else he has to offer.
