Manchester's platinum-selling producers, WhyJay and LiTek, have joined forces to create WhyTek, their collaborative musical project as artists. Stepping out from behind the scenes of some of our favourite releases this year, WhyTek's debut single "Saxo" features no other than North London rapper Tion Wayne setting the standards high.
Built around the brass fanfare hook from Alexandra Stan's hit "Mr Saxobeat," which was a platinum-selling track in 2011, WhyTek puts their own unique production spin on the iconic hook. With the added Tion Wayne charismatic rap style to the mix, this is an outstanding debut for these producers turned artists.
While you might not recognize the names WhyJay and LiTek, you've likely heard their work. They've been the masterminds behind various hit tracks, including Central Cee's viral platinum-selling hit "Doja," FLO's "Fly Girl" featuring Missy Elliot, Tion Wayne's platinum-certified "IFTK" featuring La Roux, and ArrDee & Cat Burns' "Home For My Heart," among others. Their contributions have significantly influenced the dynamic sound of the UK music scene in recent years.
With a solid foundation and an impressive production catalogue, WhyTek is set to captivate audiences globally with their exhilarating music. "Saxo" is just the beginning, as WhyTek gears up for a series of exciting artist releases this year alongside their ongoing producer efforts, "Saxo" introduces the world to the creative potential of this platinum-selling production duo in their new artistic venture.
