Melbourne-based trio Blusher, known for their euphoric pop music infused with chaos, camaraderie, and gritty confidence, has shared a captivating visualiser for their heart-stopping debut single, "Softly Spoken." Originally released last year, the trio accompanies the video with an announcement of their upcoming debut EP, titled "Should We Go Dance?," set to be released on Friday, 14th July.
"Softly Spoken" is a buoyant slice of euphoric alt-pop bliss that served as Blusher's first collaborative creation. The trio was pleasantly surprised by the initial success of the track, describing it as a reflection of the exciting moments spent with friends in a bedroom, where makeup, secrets, frustrations, and decoding text messages from boys are shared. The song blends softness and sensitivity with bursts of screams and aggressive synths, creating a dynamic sonic experience.
Blusher has been the talk of the music industry since their performance at Brighton's Great Escape Festival. The trio is set to join Swedish pop powerhouse Tove Lo on her upcoming Australian headline shows, following their earlier support for Aurora earlier this year.
"Should We Go Dance?" is the result of Blusher's hard work, determination, and friendship. Over the course of a year, they have honed their ability to find escapism on the dancefloor, resulting in an EP that captures their energetic spirit. Talking on the release they explain;
"Writing this EP was such a fun combination of forces. We swapped instruments, read from each others’ journals, and layered all our vocals together to create what we call the ‘fourth member of the band’. Lauren is head chef of production, Jade is a vocal melody machine and Miranda can write basslines in her sleep."
