Standing as a shining example of Misch's collaborative prowess. The track was co-written with Grammy-winning songwriter Jimmy Napes, multi-instrumentalist and producer Nate Mercereau (notable for his work on André 3000’s instrumental album), and long-time collaborator and singer-songwriter Carmody.

The song benefits from the expert mixing of Neal H Pogue, whose skill has defined numerous hits across various genres. Although penned and recorded before 2020’s “What Kinda Music”, alongside “Insecure”, “Cinnamon Curls” presents a stark sonic contrast to its raw, stripped-back predecessor with a vibrant and radiant feel, reminiscent of a Californian sunrise, and is underpinned by warm, woozy guitar synths. Tom Misch reflects on the creation of the track:

“I made Cinnamon Curls back in 2018 in one of my first sessions in LA with a producer called Nate Mercereau. We got the original idea down in the session and then I took it into another session with Jimmy Napes to work on the lyrics. It's always had a very hazy, LA vibe to me and I'm glad to finally get it out.”

Misch has established himself as a formidable force in contemporary music, adeptly blending elements of jazz, R&B, and hip-hop, rapidly becoming one of the most celebrated artists of the last decade.

As Misch meticulously crafts his eagerly anticipated new solo album, "Cinnamon Curls" continues to solidify his reputation as a leading figure in the music industry, with a unique ability to seamlessly merge genres and create timeless music.
