In the ever-evolving landscape of hip-hop, there are artists who defy conventions and carve their own paths. The New Consistent, hailing from the West Midlands, is undoubtedly one such artist.
Since his rise to prominence in 2019, he's been leaving an indelible mark on the genre, blending silky, bona fide delivery with melodies and beats that draw inspiration from both modern UK and classic US hip-hop.
Now, with the release of his late-summer anthem, 'Pretty At Ease,' TNC offers a glimpse into his inner world where raw emotions and introspection collide. TNC shares the genesis of 'Pretty At Ease':
"It was late at night, and I'd just had a silly argument with a family member. We were both pretty drunk, and I found myself so frustrated, so I left the room, and the words just kinda poured out of me. I think I'd built up these thoughts in my head for ages, and it kind of just exploded that night."
The authenticity of the lyrics shines through in the music, as TNC continues,
"I wrote the first verse in about 20 minutes and felt a lot better afterwards. I clearly got what I needed to get off my chest because with the second verse, I began to look further out at my life in general, dissecting other things that frustrated me until I got to the point where I realized that it's all minor and I'm actually pretty content; it turned into quite a peaceful moment."
In the world of music, some of the most profound creations are born from moments of catharsis and vulnerability. TNC's 'Pretty At Ease' is a testament to this phenomenon. Serving as a reflection of human experiences and an emotional whirlwind followed by the calm after the storm, TNC created a narrative that resonates with us all, especially during those hectic times when life seems to be hectic.
As The New Consistent invites us to join him on this musical journey, we can't help but appreciate the vulnerability and authenticity that define his artistry. 'Pretty At Ease' isn't just a late-summer anthem; it's a heartfelt exploration of life's complexities, set to a captivating beat.
