SKEPTA TAKES US BACK TO SCHOOL WITH HIS LATEST MAINS COLLECTION - MAINS UNIVERSITY SS25

Skepta just made waves at London Fashion Week, shutting down the scene with his second runway show for MAINS. The iconic British rapper, who’s been steadily building his fashion legacy, teamed up with chief designer Mikey Pearce and graphic designer Johnson Orchid to bring a fresh, schoolboy-inspired collection to life.

The SS25 collection, dubbed 'MAINS University,' was showcased in central London, attracting a star-studded crowd including UK favourites Central Cee, Gabriel Moses, and Mahalia.

The show transported us back to the days of high school hallways, with 80 Vincent Square transformed into a university-inspired setting. Sticker-plastered lockers and MAINS-branded flags lined the venue, adding to the throwback vibe. Skepta’s take on collegiate fashion came through with 27 unisex looks that expertly balanced both men’s and womenswear. With a limited, curated selection, he teased the drop on social media, showing off long-haired wigs, bold handbags, and branded neckties. And the footwear? A collaboration with Kickers featuring furry details and classic leather boots, all stacked on chunky yellow gum soles.

The runway itself was electrifying. Models stormed down the cement flooring, kicking off the collection with a graphic double-breasted suit splashed with designs of essential school supplies. Skepta’s signature oversized silhouettes were on full display, with sheer button-downs and leather wrestling shorts adding a rebellious twist. MAINS University logos were splashed across exaggerated blazers and pleated culottes, giving off major school merch vibes. The range also mixed in some all-American flair, with embroidered bomber jackets and USA flag sweater vests that looked like they came straight out of an Ivy League wardrobe.

Prints were everything in this collection, from bold leopard to classic camo, showing up on neckties, pocket squares, and headgear. Accessories? Think color-blocked school bags, leather gloves, and caps printed with floral wreaths. And, of course, Skepta’s 'MAINS x Kickers' collab brought the heat, with old-school leather boots in striking shades of red, black, and brown, grounded by those iconic yellow soles.

This was no ordinary fashion show. It was Skepta’s unique vision of what school could be; fierce, fresh, and full of swagger.
