This past week saw the release of ‘Can’t Take The Hood To Heaven’ by Long Beach native Seafood Sam. This single is taken from his upcoming album, ‘Standing On Giant Shoulders’, set to release April 19th.

The track possesses laid back, west coast energy in plentiful supply. The luscious production is layered with harps, strings and brass, reminiscent of Philly soul classics. Cooked up by Sam alongside collaborator Tom Kendall, ‘Can’t Take The Hood To Heaven’ is a reflective track, discussing what Sam considers to be the most important parts of his life.

‘Standing On Giant Shoulders’ is soon due for release, causing a stirring of excitement among listeners. Following two stand-out singles in ‘Can’t Take The Hood To Heaven’, and previously released ‘Saylo’, Seafood Sam is showcasing a glimpse into what is due to be an exciting body of work.

In recording ‘Standing On Giant Shoulders’, Sam sought to deliver a record that will stand the test of time, and provide an example for his son. With the purity of this motivation, and from what we have heard thus far, it seems Seafood Sam is going to achieve his goals.
