Breakthrough singer-songwriter SABRI makes her powerful return with her latest single, ‘Ring By Spring’, her first release since signing with EMPIRE.
Known for her lush, raspy vocals and emotionally charged lyrics, SABRI delivers a compelling track that explores broken promises, self-worth, and the frustration of relationships that don’t live up to expectations.
Produced by Sak Pasé, the reggae-infused track features a smooth, sultry groove that perfectly complements SABRI’s rich, emotive vocals. The laid-back rhythm contrasts with the weight of the song’s message, highlighting themes of sacrifice, personal growth, and the empowering realisation that sometimes, it’s best to choose yourself over unfulfilled promises. In SABRI’s words,
“‘Ring By Spring’ is a reflection on unfulfilled promises... It's a powerful reminder to not keep waiting, to not be afraid to choose yourself, and to have the courage to move on.”
This marks SABRI’s first single since her 2022 debut EP 'Actually, I Can’, where she similarly explored themes of empowerment and personal strength. SABRI's return is a testament to her growth as an artist and a woman, as she puts it:
"I grew as a woman and now it’s time to fucking shine and live the life I deserve."
Beyond her solo work, SABRI has been busy collaborating with big names in the music world. This year alone, she’s featured on Nigerian Hip-Hop artist Olamide’s album ‘Ikigai’ and Grammy-nominated artist Yung Bleu’s album ‘Jeremy’. In the past, she’s worked with Full Crate on the 2021 track *‘Tell Me Why’*, showcasing her versatility and ability to connect with various genres and artists.
SABRI’s unique sound draws from her diverse background; raised by a Moroccan father and Algerian mother, she was captivated by the powerful voices of Lauryn Hill, Aaliyah, and Mary J. Blige from an early age. These influences, combined with elements of Pop and House, have helped her craft a distinctive sound that resonates deeply with her fans, earning her millions of streams on Spotify.
With ‘Ring By Spring,’ SABRI proves once again that she’s a force to be reckoned with in the music industry. The track is an anthem of empowerment, urging listeners to realise their worth and never settle for less.
