Alternative rock band Rare Americans has unveiled Act II of their most ambitious project to date, "Searching For Strawberries: The Story Of Jongo Bongo." This latest instalment adds five new tracks to the album, creating a captivating and immersive listening experience.
"Searching For Strawberries" combines a revolutionary 33-minute, fully animated musical feature with an accompanying album, delving into the true story of Rare Americans multi-instrumentalist, "Jongo" (real name Jan Cajka). The narrative follows Jongo's journey from being a corporate pawn to becoming a rock star, as he embarks on a transformative pilgrimage through Spain's Santiago De Camino, spanning 900 kilometers.
James Priestner, lead vocalist of Rare Americans, expressed his pride in the project, stating,
"I'm really proud of what we accomplished. I think Jongo Bongo will be influential, and more artists will attempt to tell their stories in this animated album fashion in the near future. It's so powerful for the listener and viewer to be able to see the story unfolding visually while synced perfectly with the music."
Following their recent successful Milk & Honey tour, "Searching For Strawberries: The Story of Jongo Bongo" continues Rare Americans' journey of musical storytelling. Their songs, complemented by narrative-driven animated videos, have earned them accolades, including a JUNO Award nomination for Breakthrough Group of the Year in 2023. Rare Americans have built a passionate fanbase, engaging their followers through their positive message, diverse sound, and captivating visuals.
This unique approach to engaging with their catalogue has further endeared the band to their dedicated fanbase.
