Olympia Vitalis and Common Saints have reunited for ‘December Sunshine’, an uplifting new single that brings a welcome burst of energy to the colder months. The track pairs Olympia's powerful vocals with the vintage-inspired production of Charlie J Perry, the multi-instrumentalist behind Common Saints.

From its opening moments, ‘December Sunshine’ makes an impression. An upbeat, feel-good rhythm drives the track forward, while Olympia's commanding voice takes centre stage. There's an infectious warmth to the recording, drawing on the sounds of classic soul without losing the energy that makes it feel fresh.

The collaboration continues a creative partnership that has already shaped much of Olympia's recent work. Perry produced her July EP Lady Luck in its entirety, and the pair returned to their shared musical influences for ‘December Sunshine’, taking inspiration from the soul recordings of the 1960s and 1970s, particularly Marlena Shaw's The Spice of Life.

Written during the depths of a British winter, the song explores the comfort of finding warmth in someone you love. Olympia explains:

“‘December Sunshine’ was written in the dead of the British winter when I was wearing a couple layers and thermals in the studio. It’s about when the warmth you crave in the winter is in the form of a person you love.”

Despite its winter setting, the track feels anything but subdued. Olympia's expressive delivery sits at the forefront of Perry's lively production, bringing an optimism to the song that makes its message feel celebratory rather than sentimental.

For Common Saints, the recording came together naturally, with the pair's established relationship allowing them to explore their influences without forcing the process.

“Olympia and I have been collaborating for a while and this song came about very naturally. We drew heavily upon both our taste and inspirations from the 1960s and ‘70s and she really captured the magic in the vocal.”

The single follows Lady Luck, a project that saw Olympia turn her songwriting towards more personal reflections on timing, self-belief and trusting her instincts. ‘December Sunshine’ continues that exploration of personal experience, but with a brighter, more playful approach.

The release also arrives ahead of Olympia's sold-out London headline show at Kings Place on October 16th, continuing a busy year of new music and festival performances.

‘December Sunshine’ captures what makes Olympia Vitalis and Common Saints such a natural musical pairing. Her voice commands attention, Perry's production gives it room to shine, and together they deliver a soul record that carries its warmth through every moment.
