Oculate UK: This Week In Music

There’s no denying that it’s been a GREAT week for music, and what’s more, festival season is well and truly underway. Between Glastonbury week, the hottest summer we can remember since 2020, and the return of UK rap legend and national treasure J Hus, we’re sure you’re feeling pretty good today. Nonetheless, This Week In Music is going to make you feel even better.

Sasha Keable returns to show us why she’s the baddest in the business, p-rallel continues his extraordinary run with ‘Sorry I‘m Like This’, and yes you heard us right, J HUS IS BACK.

All that and more in the TWIM playlist, right below.

Welcome to This Week In Music.

J Hus, Asake - Gold

Hussla baby! Let's all give a warm welcome for the return of J Hus, who today releases his first single since 2023; Gold featuring Asake. In Hus' absence, the wells have run dry, the birds have stopped singing, and the vibes have stopped vibing! With Gold, this all changes, as Asake and Hus trade words over jumpy afrobeats production. This one's going on loop all weekend. Ahhhhhhhhh man!

Joy Orbison, Overmono, Skiifall - Lippy

If you weren’t already planning on whacking on your welly boots to shake about in a relatively muddy field with friends and booze this summer, then the newest single from Joy Orbison, Overmono and Skiifall , ‘Lippy’, might just convince you. With festival season in full swing, the production heavyweights team up with Canada’s own Skiifall in a joyous collaboration that has me mercilessly hunting for some overpriced resale tickets and planning a last minute trip to Mountain Warehouse on my lunch break.

Sasha Keable - Feel Something

Sasha Keable is looking to ‘Feel Something’ in her latest offering, and we’ve most definitely found that something in her soul-FULL, bassy tones this week. Brimming with her signature, elegant yet take-no-shit attitude, this new track is a raw admission of what it means to feel emotionally numb. And to think we’d only just broken free of the chokehold ‘Act Right’ had us in, thanks Sasha, we’ll be (very) willingly hitting play and repeat on ‘Feel Something’ for the foreseeable.

p-rallel, Blanco, ODF - Sorry I'm Like This

My, my – it’s summer banger after summer banger this week, and if anyone knows how to get you into the festival-season headspace, it’s our latest cover star, p-rallel. Teaming up with Blanco and ODF this week the trio drop an energetic bassline heater in the form of ‘Sorry I’m Like This’. Once again showcasing his prowess for London club culture, p-rallel does not dissapoint. We fully expect you to get your two-step on to this one this weekend. No exceptions.

Louis Culture - Dance (Everything's Fine)

Louis Culture has always run in his own lane. His effortless simplicity and transparency are exactly what first caught the ears of the UK underground circa 2017. Now, his 2025 return ‘Dance (Everything’s Fine)’ is no exception to these qualities. Plus it’s an absolute (emotional) BOP. This latest release marks a strong comeback for the London orator, leaving us eagerly anticipating what else he has in store for us this year.

Absolutely - I Just Don't Know You Yet

Absolutely, finally drops I Just Don’t Know You Yet after fans basically bullied her into it—and fair enough. First teased on tour with BANKS, the track turned heads after a viral Arizona clip showed her belting it to a standing ovation. Now we’ve got the full thing: sky-high vocals, big feelings, and a chorus built to scream in the shower. It’s soft, it’s bold, it’s giving the main character.
