Hailing from South London, Emerging R&B sensation Nia Chennai has made a captivating debut with her EP, "Diary Is a Waste of Paper." Releasing after just a year on the music scene, this debut EP provides a glimpse into Nia's world, exploring personal narratives and relatable themes.
Nia recently treated fans to the release of "Tea Lady," a track inspired by the British tradition of gathering over a cup of tea for gossip among friends. Drawing influences from Erykah Badu's "Bag Lady" and Amy Winehouse's candid storytelling in "F** Me Pumps," Nia infuses "Tea Lady" with a unique charm, setting the tone for the EP.
"Diary Is a Waste of Paper" takes listeners on a metaphorical journey akin to a slumber party, where friends engage in candid conversations about love, commitment, and societal pressure, inviting her audience to explore these themes in a relatable and authentic manner. Standing as a testament to the vibrancy and diversity of the genre, Nia joins the ranks of artists like Natanya, Essosa, BINA, and others. Commenting on the EP, Nia Chennai shared,
