Following the release of his March single “Fassion Weak,” a tribute to local artist Navinder Nangla, Nevmore is back with his latest track, “Swim Swim.”
This new single, ready just in time for summer, is a jungle pop fusion that marks a departure from Nevmore’s usual style, offering a more relaxed and chilled-out vibe. “Swim Swim” narrates the story of an after-work drinking session where one pint turns into two, two into three, and the night unfolds. Speaking about “Swim Swim” and the inspiration behind the song, Nevmore shared:
“I wanted to take a different approach this time. I love rapping and creating music with a chilled vibe, something you can relax to. While I’ve explored trap and garage, jungle has made a huge comeback, and it caught my eye. I wanted to take a shot at it and leave my mark on the summer.”
Produced by Backseat DJ, also known as Leo, Nevmore’s frequent collaborator since 2020, “Swim Swim” showcases their enduring creative partnership. Explaining why he chose Leo for this project, Nevmore said:
“There’s no one who loves jungle more than Leo. He’s always creating jungle and DnB remixes in the studio. I decided to have him produce this track so the world can see his talent off the mic, where he also excels.”
The music video for “Swim Swim” is directed by Azim “Renecide” Miah, who previously directed Nevmore’s video for “Lena The Plug” from the 2023 mixtape “Make Your Mind Up Son” and the recent “Fassion Weak” video.
“I really enjoyed what Renecide and Dotmedia did for the ‘Lena’ music video. It was an easy decision to have them direct this one too. We wanted to showcase our creative sides and set the video in a pub, a place we all love to drink.”
The music video tells the story of a group of friends visiting a pub, with Nevmore’s character going a bit too far on his first day of drinking, abandoning his friends, and binge drinking into the night, feeling the effects the next morning.
“Swim Swim” marks a welcome return for Nevmore, highlighting his versatility and ability to capture the essence of summer through his music.
