Revered multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and producer, Jordan Rakei, has unveiled his highly anticipated fifth studio album, "The Loop", continuing to showcase Rakei's unique fusion of rich soulful sounds and experimental tones.
"The Loop" thrives on its deep vocal-led grooves and lush brass accompaniments, exemplified in the album's focus track ‘Trust.’ Inspired by a cycle of life, reflecting on the transition from childhood to adulthood and the ongoing relationship with one’s inner child, Jordan explores vulnerability, authenticity, and the continuous loop of life. As Jordan explains;
“I wanted to get back to why I fell in love with music in the first place. I found myself listening to my favorite artists again and I wanted to make an ambitious record centered around my vocal. I had a no-judgment approach when it came to production and songwriting choices.”
Marking a new chapter in Jordan’s career, "The Loop" was recorded at RAK Studios, self-produced, and mixed by Ben Baptie, stepping away from the DIY sound Rakei was once known for.
Accompanying the release of the album, Jordan Rakei has announced a 21-date UK & EU tour, including two shows at the Royal Albert Hall in October, along with seven additional US dates. Combining this with his upcoming Glastonbury performance and his very own BBC Prom in July, alongside the Royal Northern Sinfonia orchestra, this is an album you must experience live.
