Following the success of her debut EP "A Bowl Of Unripe Fruit," Matilda continues to captivate with her poignant lyrics and ethereal pop sound.
Matilda Lyn is back and more introspective than ever with her latest single "No Fun," delving deep into the complexities of the mind, encapsulating the feeling of being perpetually under construction.
It's a raw and honest reflection that continues the thematic journey from her acclaimed debut EP "A Bowl Of Unripe Fruit," which featured standout tracks like "Down Down Down," "Fooled By September," "Wait for Me," and "Dead Ends." Reflecting on her new release, Matilda shares,
“I started writing ‘No Fun’ on the guitar when I was living in a studio apartment that had scaffolding on the outside and plastic covering every window. I was thinking a lot about how I sometimes feel like I need to take a step back from all my thoughts and feelings and how my brain can be a not so fun place to be in, like it’s always under construction.”
Performed and produced by Matilda herself, "No Fun" is released under the LA-based label Giant, founded by Jeffrey Azoff of Full Stop Management, known for managing top-tier artists like Harry Styles, Lizzo, Anderson .Paak, and James Blake. This release marks another significant step in Matilda's burgeoning career, establishing her as a bold new artist to watch.
As she continues to evolve and grow, Matilda Lyn is proving to be a formidable force. "No Fun" is not just a song; it's an experience that invites listeners to reflect on their own internal landscapes, all while enjoying Matilda's unique and captivating sound.
