South London’s rising alt-pop star, Lauren Dejey, returns with an effervescent new single, ‘Till I Wilt.’
Following the success of her EP, ‘To Sow By Scattering’, at the end of last year, Lauren Dejey returns to the spotlight with ‘Till I Wilt’.
Heavy in imaginative lyricism, Dejey delivers an impressive vocal performance over a compellingly distorted production. ‘Till I Wilt’ articulates the shared characteristics of humans and nature. The track explores the idea that humans run the risk of wilting away when left without the care of others.
An enthralling concept, Dejey’s soft vocals contrast with stuttering, harsh production choices to great effect. This is a refreshing contribution to the alt-pop space, prompting great intrigue over future work from Lauren Dejey. Speaking on what the new single meant to her, Lauren shared,
“Giving every drop of energy away to someone. You’d do anything to help them grow and thrive while your colours slowly fade. Like a gentle flower wilting on someone’s shelf, only needing a touch of love and care to come back to full bloom.”
Worth keeping an eye out for is the visual accompaniment to the track, expected to drop on February 15th.
