Grindah’s Decided Kurupt FM Are Doing Music Again

Five years after stepping away from music, Grindah has made a decision. Kurupt FM are back. The group have returned with new single ‘Feelings’ featuring Young Franco, while also teasing a new project titled GDWDMA, short for Grindah’s Decided We’re Doing Music Again.

As you might expect, the announcement arrives with exactly the sort of confidence only Grindah could deliver.

“It’s time. As you may very well know, a few years ago I quit music, but now I've split up with Miche… I'm back on the market, well, not just physically. But musically. Grindah’s decided we’re doing music again. That's the name of the new album, or EP. ‘GDWDMA’,” he explained. Naturally, Beats had a slightly different take.

“Didnt she split up with you?” he asked. To which Grindah replied:

“No she didnt split up with me, it was her wanting to initially, me having to go along with it and in the end it made it a mutual decision, anyway…”

The accompanying video keeps the joke going throughout. Despite references to a “mega yacht”, the crew are clearly spending their time on a much smaller boat off the Australian coast, fishing rather than living the luxury lifestyle Grindah would probably like everyone to believe. Between verses, the small interactions and pauses allow the personalities of the group to shine through, delivering exactly the sort of character-driven chaos that made them fan favourites in the first place.

Beats once again steals a few moments of his own, delivering the line, “used to be fat, now I’m thinner, still smash a big roast dinner,” before later ending the video battling seasickness on the journey back.

While details surrounding GDWDMA remain limited, ‘Feelings’ marks Kurupt FM’s first new music in five years and signals the start of their return.

Whether the comeback was inspired by heartbreak or not is still up for debate. One thing isn’t. Grindah’s decided they’re doing music again.
