Florence + The Machine Are Back With Their Sixth Studio Album 'Everybody Scream'

Florence + The Machine are back with Everybody Scream, the sixth studio album from Florence Welch, set for release on October 31. The announcement lands with the title track and its striking video, directed by Autumn de Wilde and featuring IDLES’ Mark Bowen.

The album was written and produced by Welch over the past two years with a tight circle of collaborators, including Bowen, The National’s Aaron Dessner, and Mitski. Its direction was shaped by a turning point in Welch’s life: emergency surgery during the Dance Fever tour. Recovery pushed her towards mysticism, witchcraft, and folk horror, sparking questions of mortality, healing, and what it means to carry on.

Welch describes the record as one that faces womanhood, partnership, ageing, and dying head-on, finding strangeness in the everyday. That weight is already clear in the single. ‘Everybody Scream’ is dark, spectral, and cathartic, with a video that echoes 90s gothic visuals while keeping Welch at the centre of it all.

The new record will span 12 songs, with bonus tracks included on ‘Chamber Versions’ editions and an alternate cassette cover for the ‘Bloodwood Edition’. It marks a bold new chapter for Welch, now embracing her body’s limits as much as its power, and shaping that experience into her art.

With Everybody Scream, Florence + The Machine sound ready to turn survival into spectacle once again.
