Fera Drop The Dipper Capsule Giving Us Gear For Birders, Ravers And Everyone In Between

The Dipper Capsule is Fera’s clearest signal yet that they’re not just about clothes; you’re buying into a lifestyle. Dropping Thursday, 15 May 2025, the Summer 25 collection pulls from the slow-and-steady rhythm of British birders.

But this isn’t about reenacting Springwatch. It’s about building a kit that works in the field and holds up at a festival. You could be scanning the sky for a Slender-billed Curlew - or stumbling into one of the many secret Glastonbury sets.

At the centre is the Dipper Vest - in green or oat - built from lightweight herringbone cotton with all the trimmings: pockets, d-rings, and an easy fit. It’s designed for action, but doesn’t scream about it. Throw it on whether you’re birding in the Cairngorms or in the fields, embracing the summer festival energy.

Paired with the Crane Shorts, you’ve got range. Ripstop nylon, quick-dry, integrated belt, mesh lining, and sneaky zippered pockets on both sides. Navy or green, XS through XXL. It’s smart gear without feeling like techwear cosplay.

There’s also two solid t-shirt options - the Rare Bird Alert and the Migration Tee - each in navy or white. One plays on the old birder pager systems, the other nods to the swallow, the capsule’s title bird. Speaking of which, the Bonxie Hat carries an embroidered swallow in either green or oat.

The capsule comes backed by a four-part documentary following Bill Spoon, an amateur birder trying to be the first person to spot the mythical Devilled Crownhawk. Expect the tone to match the clothes: self-aware, oddball, and quietly committed. More info to follow on this.

Fera’s positioning hasn’t changed. It’s not about summit records or technical flex. They’re here for the bog walks and the post-hike pub chats. They want you out in it, whether that means Ulster marshes or Soho backstreets. The Dipper Capsule just widens the tools to do that.

And like all Fera drops, 3% of every order goes to conservation work through their Wild Share scheme. No fuss, no frills, just decent gear for people who like being outside.
