DISCOVER THE ELECTRIC GARDEN – THE HOTTEST NEW FESTIVAL IN THE EAST MIDLANDS

Electric Picnic
As Summer draws to a close, this usually means the end of festival season within the UK. There are a few brands who like to extend the summer festival season as far as they can, with festivals like Mint hosting in September. Another brand doing the same is Nottingham-based brand Groovebox, who are bringing a brand-new festival to Nottingham on the 23rd of September, Electric Garden.

Inspired by festivals such as Boomtown and Lost Village, the Groovebox team are bringing the same sense of magic and wonder to Nottingham and will be the first of its kind for the brand.

Set at Groovebox’s usual festival home of the Racecourse, the venue will be revamped to mirror an idyllic garden setting, with hidden stages separated by a maze of pathways, ready to be stumbled upon by festival goers and ravers alike, alongside mystical and intriguing entertainers, immersive art installations and interactive pieces coming alive as the day turns into night. Beyond every corner, mystery lurks. Going in with a different approach to any of their previous events, Electric Garden will be a place where creativity is encouraged, with freedom and liberation welcomed onto the dancefloor, this is set to be a real feast for the senses.

In terms of the lineup, as always Groovebox have booked some of the biggest and best names in dance music (which they never fail to do), over 60+ artists ranging from house, melodic trance, disco, drum and bass and bassline. With five arenas, each stage will teleport attendees to other worlds, with a different theme and brand hosting each one:

Paraiso

Paraiso are primarily a Nottingham-based events brand, popular with students, hosting weeknight events in the city centre at clubs and bars such as Calluna. Having collaborated with Groovebox before, they are back for Electric Garden, hosting the house music stage with artists such as Schak, Max Dean, Latmun, Act On, Alisha and Hannah Wants to headline.

Submerged x Basslayerz

A regular at Groovebox events, the Submerged x Basslayerz crew will be hosting the drum and bass stage, with artists such as Turno & Dreps, TNA & P. Money, Inja, Benny Page, Camo & Crooked B2B Mefjus & Dexta, and the mind-blowing Pendulum will be playing a not-to-be-missed DJ set to close the day.

Temple

a new stage for Groovebox, the Temple stage will be home to all of the melodic music on the day, both of trance and house, boasting artists including Tommy Farrow, Rebuke, Edgar De Ramon, Danny Howard, Adrianna and Franky Wah to headline.

Bassline Takeover

Another Groovebox favourite returning for the day is the Bassline Takeover team, who will be hosting the eponymous bassline stage, which includes Zero, DJ Q, Devilman, Bassboy and angels of UKG, 24 Hour Garage Girls.

Discobox VIP Area

Finally, the VIP stage will be titled “Discobox”, a play on the brand’s name but with a disco twist. The lineup for the stage will feature Angie’s Disco Orchestra with the Paradox Orchestra curated by Angel Lee, alongside other maestros such as Neon Hustler, El Johno, Fever, Jamie Birch, Joe Quinn, Mark Mills, Martin Bierne and Phil West.

The official site map was revealed via Instagram and there will be lots of other fun things happening throughout the day, with a funfair including dodgems and a slingshot, a food village with lots of local food vendors to keep bellies full all day long, the usual fully stocked bars with drinks and vapes, merch stands where you can get kitted out with a Groovebox branded t-shirt, hoodie, cap, fan and more, glitter stands, and a Red Bull tent where you can get a Red Bull cocktail or just a flavour of Red Bull and mixer - I recommend tropical and vodka.

Secrets lurk in the shadows, and music and magic will intertwine. Uncover the mysteries that await. But the garden may have alternative plans for you, will you answer its call?
