DOWNTOWN KAYOTO RELEASES HIGHLY-ANTICIPATED EP 'THINKING WITH MY EARS' WITH LEAD SINGLE 'MY BEST'

Emerging from the North of England, Zimbabwe-born and Hull-based creative force, Downtown Kayoto, unveils his new EP, 'Thinking With My Ears', featuring the lead single 'My Best'.

Following the success of singles "Came Thru", "Trust U", and "Coastlines", Downtown Kayoto continues to captivate audiences with his unique blend of sonic innovation and thoughtful lyrics. The Yorkshire-based artist has quickly become one of the most eye-catching talents in the UK music scene over the past two years, with his style narrating personal experiences and nostalgia.

'Thinking With My Ears' is an 8-track R&B-infused project co-produced by DK himself. It features collaborations with producers like Dan Briskin and Frankie Sococa, which showcase DK’s smooth lyrical prowess, focusing on themes of confident vulnerability. 'My Best' stands out from the project with its drum-ridden beat and was co-produced with Grammy-award-winning songwriter GG.

Reflecting on past relationships, DK’s lyrics encourage listeners to express their emotions freely. Tracks like "Came Thru" and "Ex To See Me Cry" emphasize this vulnerability, with DK stating in "iTried": "is it bad if I said I didn’t want to let you in sometimes, I tired.. to make this right," as the EP captures a sense of nostalgia and showcases DK’s maturity beyond his 23 years.

To celebrate the EP release, DK performed the project at his sold-out debut London headline show on July 18th at The Lower Third, supported by Omar+ and Nosa
