dEE TdL Blurs Genre Lines On His Vibrant Return 'Barry Allen'

If I had a fiver to bet on someone making serious noise in the next few years, I’d put it on dEE TdL. He’s not just back, he’s got momentum and found his spark.

Returning with Barry Allen - his first single since 2023 - dEE is making a sharp, confident return. If this is the direction he’s moving in, there’s clear growth from previous releases. The sound’s tighter, the writing hits harder, and the whole thing feels more self-assured.

The track doesn’t play by anyone’s rules. Sitting somewhere between grime and indie, Barry Allen leans on bold, choppy drums and vocal delivery that snaps between melody and pace. It’s raw, sharp and addictive.

The title’s a nod to The Flash’s alter ego, and the whole thing moves at that kind of speed. There’s urgency in the beat, but it’s the confidence in the performance that really drives it. dEE sounds like someone who's not only found his pocket but knows how to stay in it, switching flows and styles with ease.

If you’re into artists like Master Peace, who’s been making noise lately with AJ Tracey, this track hits a similar space. It’s not grime, not indie, not UK rap, it's something in between. But labels aside, it suits dEE perfectly.

The visual, directed by Connor Maclaren, is a must-watch. It’s nostalgic, lo-fi and cinematic, leaning into texture and tone without overdoing it. dEE owns every frame. It’s DIY, but polished enough to stand out, with sharp direction and real attention to detail.

There’s a lot of artists trying to make this crossover sound work, but few are doing it with this level of identity. Barry Allen doesn’t feel like a side project or experiment; it feels like a main character moment that I hope continues to shine through. The quick post-credit scene shows us what he's gonna do next, and I can't wait. Who's Maria? I'm all ears.
