CRISTALE CONTINUES TO IMPRESS WITH STRIKING NEW SINGLE ‘ANTISOCIAL’
2023 has been a fantastic year for upcoming London-artist Cristale. A viral Plugged In with Teezandos, official Top Boy single ‘Rodents’, and a Nike Women’s World Cup Daily Duppy for GRM Daily were just some of her highlights. As the year comes to a close, she has treated fans to the exquisitely bold, ‘Antisocial’, produced by TSB.
‘Antisocial’ feels like one of Cristale’s most insightful songs, as she showcases new aspects of her personality. It begins with the highly captivating line, ‘I don’t like people’, immediately drawing the attention of the listener. The TSB production is highly effective. It leaves plenty of space for Cristale to express her feelings, whilst setting the unapologetic tone of the song. Over atmospheric strings and moving piano chords, Cristale also discusses some inner-city experiences, which proves greatly compelling.
The video is also well worth checking out, as it shows Cristale immersed in a forest, far from the capital she calls home. The contrasts present between the subject matter of the lyrics, and the visual accompaniment works tremendously well. The video stands out as very unique compared to the visuals of many of Cristale’s contemporaries.
Moving into 2024 with some serious momentum, I have no doubts it will be Cristale’s biggest year to date. She remains authentically true to herself, enabling her to carve a unique path on her musical journey thus far.
