Fresh off a whirlwind US tour with Sofi Tukker and three ARIA award nominations, Australian party legends Confidence Man are back to tease their much-anticipated third album 3AM (LA LA LA) with a sizzling double single, Control/Real Move Touch.
Due for release on October 18, this album promises to bring their wildest, most euphoric creations to life. And they’re celebrating the release in true Confidence Man style: with a string of in-store shows and a secret bunker rave in London. Get ready for the madness.
The double single packs a punch. Control is an acid-house-inspired, high-energy track with a bounce that’ll get your feet moving, while Real Move Touch brings a gritty, bass-heavy vibe featuring reggae royalty and Gorillaz collaborator Sweetie Irie. The track is pure rave energy-raw, sweaty, and irresistible. Vocalist Janet Planet recalls their studio session with Sweetie,
“He came in, asked if he could blaze up, and when we said ‘hell yeah’, he was like, ‘Great, just checking you’re real rock stars.’”
3AM (LA LA LA) promises to be a love letter to the UK's rave scene, blending 90s rave sounds with the hedonistic energy of queer clubs and London nightlife. Inspired by their recent move to the UK and encounters with rave legends like KLF, Confidence Man take listeners on a ride through breakbeat, trance, and punk-driven techno. From Underworld-style anthems to Prodigy-level punk energy, the album is designed to take you somewhere else - a euphoric escape from everyday monotony.
Fans can also look forward to a limited edition CD of the album with art designed by cult-status cartoonist Chris Simpsons Artist. Describing the artwork as a “mash-up of Da Vinci and L.S. Lowry,” Chris joked that he never wants to draw another window again. The quirky collaboration adds another layer of Confidence Man’s offbeat, rebellious style.
With 3AM (LA LA LA), Confidence Man are naughtier, ravier, and more unstoppable than ever. Hold on tight.
