Conducta has shared his new EP SOUNDBOY JOHNNY, released via Up Ya Archives Records following a busy run of performances spanning London's GALA Festival, Soul Clap's House of EFUNK in Detroit and Lightning in a Bottle in Los Angeles.

Marking his first solo release of the year, the project sees the Bristol-born, London-based producer diving further into the jungle and breakbeat influences that have increasingly found their way into his DJ sets over recent months.
While Conducta has built his reputation through UK garage, SOUNDBOY JOHNNY feels like a natural progression rather than a dramatic change in direction. The jungle influence runs throughout the EP, carried by rolling breaks, faster tempos and proper wobbly basslines, but Conducta's signature stamp remains present from start to finish.
Across the project, he balances rave-ready energy with the club-focused sensibility that has defined much of his work to date. The result is an EP that feels both familiar and fresh, pushing his sound forward without losing sight of what made listeners connect with it in the first place.
Tracks move confidently between euphoric moments, bass-heavy rollers and soundsystem-inspired production, showcasing a producer increasingly comfortable exploring the space between genres.
One of the most memorable moments arrives on 'In Your Arms', where a softer female vocal brings a different texture to the EP. Sitting above the heavier production, it adds an extra layer to the project and provides a welcome contrast to the weight of the surrounding tracks.
The release also feels like a natural fit for Up Ya Archives, the label launched by Nia Archives earlier this year and dedicated to spotlighting the next wave of jungle and underground electronic music.
For Conducta, the EP signals an exciting new chapter. Rather than revisiting familiar territory, SOUNDBOY JOHNNY finds him experimenting with new ideas while remaining firmly connected to the soundsystem culture and dancefloor energy that sit at the heart of his music.
SOUNDBOY JOHNNY isn't a departure from the Conducta people know. Instead, it feels like a producer widening the scope of his sound while keeping one foot firmly on the dancefloor. The jungle influence may be stronger than ever, but the identity remains unmistakably Conducta.
