CMILLANO AND YT LINK UP FOR ENERGETIC JERSEY CLUB BANGER 'WSM'

CMillano and YT link up for energetic Jersey Club banger, 'WSM.'

‘WSM’, arrives as an exuberant Jersey Club banger, featuring another star of the UK rap scene, YT. CMillano and YT have a history of collaboration, dropping a full EP together back in 2021. The duo’s return is highly anticipated, with the snippet of the video receiving widespread support on social media.

‘WSM’, an abbreviation for streetwear brand ‘Wall Street Mafia’, is a track filled to the brim with energy and infectious lyrics. The track sees the pair take on the Jersey genre with great success. The signature kick pattern of the style gives the track a truly unique bounce, with this assisted by chopped vocals and skippy drums. The track samples ‘Tweakin Together’ by BKThaRula, inspired by the sounds of US jersey artists like Bandman Rill.

The adoption of the Jersey Club sound by UK rappers is one of the most exciting developments in UK music in recent memory. With many talking of the saturation and repetitive nature of drill music, Jersey Club production is becoming increasingly widespread. YT was among the first to experiment with this sound in the UK, with his track ‘Bounce out’ dropping at the start of last year. Since then, the likes of AJ Tracey, Namani, Kasien and Jim Legaxcy have all been pushing the sound, with CMillano and YT also making important contributions.

CMillano is a 20-year-old rapper and producer originating from Canterbury. A proud member of creative collective ‘escape plan’, he has been releasing music since 2019, amassing a core fanbase, as well as millions of streams. His releases fluctuate around the many sub-genres of rap, with him proving his versatility time and time again.

‘WSM’ is a great success, proving once again the talents of both of these young artists. Their trajectories will be exciting to follow, as ‘WSM’ receives its love in various parts of the world. What CMillano and YT have created here deserves to be enjoyed by all, go take it in!
