Bel Cobain Is Entering A New Chapter As She Sets The Tone On 'Fucking City'

Bel Cobain is entering a new chapter as the East London singer-songwriter has announced her forthcoming six-track EP Kizzy, landing Friday 24th April, and she is setting the tone with potent new single “Fucking City.”

Following her recent release, “Am I Dumb,” the new track pulls listeners straight into Cobain’s world. “Fucking City” captures the strange contradiction of urban life, being surrounded by millions yet feeling completely alone. Her voice stays soft but steady, carrying a conversational honesty that makes the lyrics feel close and immediate.

On the surface, it is a song about love and isolation. Look deeper, and it opens up tougher conversations around domestic abuse, emotional repression and the expectations placed on women. Cobain writes from layered perspectives, turning what could have been a simple heartbreak song into something far more reflective.

“Fucking City is about loneliness in a city full of people,” she explains. “It touches on how masculinity and emotional repression feed that isolation and ruin connection. It’s a raw reflection on wanting love, softness, and someone to hold you down.”

An accompanying atmospheric visualiser mirrors the track’s mood, amplifying that sense of introspection and quiet tension.

Kizzy follows her 2023 EP Radical Forgiveness and arrives at a transitional point in her life. Named after her dog, who passed away as the project neared completion, the EP was written across 18 months of change. During that time, Cobain found herself sofa surfing in between studio sessions, while also navigating the endings of relationships, chapters and the loss of loved ones. Across its six tracks, Kizzy becomes a way of processing those shifts rather than avoiding them.

Bel Cobain feels poised. “Fucking City” does not shout for attention. It pulls you in quietly, then stays with you.
