Hailing from Brooklyn, New York, Ari Abdul has forged her own brand of dark alternative pop.
Combining a reverb-heavy instrumental with her mesmerising vocals, the rising artist has released her latest single, DFHMPU. Ari says, explaining the concept of the stellar track.
“DFHMPU is about self-worth. It describes being mistreated and recognising you deserve better. The other person doesn’t deserve your time and is basically being told to leave.”
Produced by LaRosa and Lucas Sim, DFHMPU features a catchy bassline that pulls the listener in. Accompanying this is Abdul’s phenomenal performance which harmonises perfectly with Rosa and Sim’s talents. Whilst growing up, creating music became second nature to Ari.
Next month, Ari and fellow label mate Isabel LaRosa, will be hitting the road on their co-headlining “God’s Watching Tour” Kicking off on March 7th in San Diego.
